Creating your first board layout

Once your board is created, you can start building its structure. Here's the process stepby step:

1. Add a container

To add a container, click Add the Rectangle icon on the left panel, and place rectangle on the canvas. This becomes the main board frame that holds all your columns.

  • Important: Always create a new column using Add bin rather than copying an existing one. Copy and paste is reserved for duplicating columns across different boards — not for adding new columns to the same board.
Use the namespace convention for naming: the tex t before the dot is the group name (e.g., Demo Board.todo, Demo Board.doing, Demo Board.done). This matters because same-named bins always show the same tickets, and when duplicating a board via Copy and Paste Special (C trl Shift V), you change the group name to create a fresh board without e xisting tickets.
Resizing a bin
When a bin is selected, resize handles appear around it. Hold Ctrl to maintain the aspect ratio while resizing.

Bin settings
Once the bin is placed you can also ad just its settings on the right panel.

Quick tip:
you can switch off showing column’s title and put its name by adding text block above the bin (Add Text icon on the left tool panel).

Adjusting your board

To edit your board, click the hamburger icon (☰) in the top-left corner to open the board menu. Then choose Edit boards — enter edit mode to modify the board's layout, columns, and design.

Enable/disable ticket creation for column

Each column can be configured to accept specific ticket types, or restricted to none at all.

On the Bin settings panel, use the Can add tickets of type list to control which ticket types can be created in that column. Select specific types or choose All to allow every type. To disable ticket creation for a column entirely, un check all options.

This is particularly useful when you want new tickets to be created in the first column only — simply enable ticket types there and disable them in the other columns.

Ticket view in a column

In the Bin settings, use the Layout dropdown to control how tickets are displayed within the column.
Ticket_view_in_a_column
There are two options :
  • Linear — tickets are stacked in a straight vertical list, one after another. Best for simple task tracking and easy scanning.
  • Spatial — tickets are arranged freely on a canvas, giving you more flexibility to group and position them visually.

Publish changes

Every time you edit the board you should publish the changes otherwise they won’t be applied. Follow the same process as described before.
